The MP is up for debate but bo1 takes the cake for me. Bo2 campaign is still memorable though, just bo1 does it far better in every way.

The branching stories in bo2 is probably what makes it good. The campaign has a fantastic setting, story, characters, mission design, and atmosphere/soundtrack far more than bo2 does it. Honestly In my opinion, I’ve always loved bo1 more than bo2. On the other hand, BO2 have an above average map (Buried) and two god-tier maps: Mob of the Dead and Origins, with the later being often considered the best map in the entire franchise, and the former usually considered to be top 5 at least. BO1 have some of the most legendary maps in the franchise such as Call of the Dead, Ascension, and Moon, and also gives you access to the WaW maps. If you include DLC it’s a bit of a toss up again. BO2’s Tranzit is a bit of a mess, and not really fun nor enjoyable. Kino is probably the best map for beginners as it’s small and have a really good training spot (the stage). Zombies wise, if you’re not buying DLCs, BO1 is better. Both game’s gunplay are equally smooth and good. BO1 have the more classic COD class setups and a lot of iconic weapons, while BO2 has more weapons that are all equally good, as well as the pick-10 system which offers more variety. You can play with bots I guess but both are equally good. Both are really old games and last I played BO2 it was full of modders. BO1’s story and characters are iconic, but BO2’s campaign is equally as good due to the multiple endings, a pretty good story imo and class setups before each mission.

In terms of campaign it’s really a hard sell.
